Sales copy
How to create high-converting sales copy
Conversion copy isn't a writing skill — it's a thinking skill. This guide walks through the frameworks that work, the examples behind them, and how to use AI without losing your voice.
Start with the customer's exact words
Before writing a single line, collect 20 quotes from real customers — reviews, support tickets, sales calls, Reddit threads in your niche. The phrases that repeat are your headlines. AI can't invent these; it can only remix what you give it.
Two frameworks that cover 90% of cases
Most great pages use one of two simple structures. Pick by format, not by mood.
- PAS — Problem, Agitate, Solution. Best for ads, emails, and short landing sections.
- AIDA — Attention, Interest, Desire, Action. Best for full landing pages and launches.
- BAB — Before, After, Bridge. Best for case studies and transformation stories.
Headlines: specificity beats cleverness
"Get more leads" is forgettable. "47 booked discovery calls in 30 days, without cold outreach" is not. Always include a number, a timeframe, or a constraint that makes the claim feel concrete.
Generate 15 variants, kill the clever ones, keep the specific ones, then test the top three.
Proof in the right places
Place social proof immediately after each major claim, not in a single block at the bottom. A testimonial that follows the headline is worth ten that live in a footer carousel.
One CTA, repeated
Every section should fold into the same call to action. Multiple competing CTAs are the most common reason a page underperforms — visitors stall when given a choice.

Frequently asked questions
What's the most important part of a sales page?
The headline. It does 80% of the work. If the headline doesn't promise a clear, specific outcome the visitor cares about, nothing below it gets read.
Should I use AI to write sales copy?
Use it to draft and iterate, not to publish. AI is fast at generating ten headline variants or restructuring a long-form page, but the angle, audience insight, and proof points have to come from you.
Which copywriting framework should I start with?
PAS (Problem, Agitate, Solution) for short-form ads and emails. AIDA (Attention, Interest, Desire, Action) for landing pages. Both are simple and battle-tested.
How do I make copy feel less salesy?
Write the way your best customers talk in support tickets and reviews. Quote them directly. Specificity always sounds more honest than adjectives.
How many headline variations should I test?
Generate 10–20 with AI, manually shortlist 3, and only run live tests on those. Volume helps you escape the first idea — but testing too many at once dilutes results.
